چکیده
Abstract In this manuscript we present a true pulse-on-demand laser design concept using two different approaches. First, fiber master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) based quasi-continuous wave (CW) laser, working at high modulation bandwidths, for generation of nanosecond pulses. Second, hybrid chirped pulse amplification (CPA)-based combining chirped-pulse and an additional solid-state amplifier, femtosecond The operation is achieved without external optical modulator/shutter high-average powers flexible repetition rates up to 40 MHz, variants the approach near-constant gain in chain. idler marker seed sources are combined stages separated out either wavelength-based separation or second harmonic (SHG)-generation-based separation. source further applied throughput processing thin film materials. with resonant scanner, intrinsic compensate scanner’s sinusoidal movement. We setup indium tin oxide (ITO) metallic films on substrates.

Femtosecond Laser Pulses and Pulse Shaping
The experiments in this thesis have been performed using femtosecond laser pulses at different wavelengths. The second and third harmonic of of the fundamental output (800 nm) of a commercial laser have been used in several experiments. In other experiments laser pulses in the visible were required. A homebuilt non-collinear optical parametric amplifier (NOPA) has been used to generate tunable ...
متن کاملLaser-Induced Shape Changes of Colloidal Gold Nanorods Using Femtosecond and Nanosecond Laser Pulses
Gold nanorods have been found to change their shape after excitation with intense pulsed laser irradiation. The final irradiation products strongly depend on the energy of the laser pulse as well as on its width. We performed a series of measurements in which the excitation power was varied over the range of the output power of an amplified femtosecond laser system producing pulses of 100 fs du...
متن کاملNanosecond laser processing of Zr41.2Ti13.8Cu12.5Ni10Be22.5 with single pulses
In addition to their attractive mechanical properties, the amorphous structure of bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) leads to favourable conditions for their processing using micro machining operations. At the same time, the generally high hardness and strength of such amorphous metals make short or ultrashort pulsed laser ablation a fabrication technology of interest for generating micro scale featu...
متن کاملCrosslinking of progesterone receptor to DNA using tuneable nanosecond, picosecond and femtosecond UV laser pulses.
UV laser crosslinking is a potentially powerful tool to investigate transient DNA-protein interactions and binding kinetics in intact cells. As the processes underlying UV laser crosslinking are not fully understood, we have performed a study of the influence of laser pulses with different physical parameters on crosslinking of the progesterone receptor to an oligonucleotide containing a hormon...
متن کاملPulse energy dependence of subcellular dissection by femtosecond laser pulses.
Precise dissection of cells with ultrashort laser pulses requires a clear understanding of how the onset and extent of ablation (i.e., the removal of material) depends on pulse energy. We carried out a systematic study of the energy dependence of the plasma-mediated ablation of fluorescently-labeled subcellular structures in the cytoskeleton and nuclei of fixed endothelial cells using femtoseco...
